What art. 50 requires from any website
If a person talks to an AI, they must be told
Website chat, WhatsApp assistant, phone operator: the visitor must know it's not a person. Art. 50.1.
If you publish AI-made content, it must be marked
Text, images, video or audio generated or altered with AI that could pass as real. Art. 50.2 and 50.4.
Fines of up to 15 million or 3 % of turnover
Art. 99.5 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689. For an SME the lower amount applies; still the most expensive fine a small website can get.

Kit or Seal: which one you need
They are two different things. The Seal solves what is visible on your website (art. 50). The Kit solves your company's internal obligations (training, inventory, usage policy, art. 4 and 26). Many companies need both; a website with no chat and no internal AI needs only the Seal.

What the AI Seal is NOT
- It is not an official certificate or an EU mark: it is a technical verification by Sofyer, with your company's declaration, public and dated.
- It is not legal advice and doesn't replace the Kit: it doesn't cover staff training, inventory or internal policy.
- It doesn't cover high-risk AI systems (recruitment, credit, health): that needs a full file.
Frequently asked questions
My website has no chat. Does it affect me?
If you publish AI-made text, images or video, yes (art. 50.2 and 50.4). If your website uses no AI at all, you don't need the seal; the free scanner will tell you.
What exactly does the verification check?
That the website responds, the seal is installed with your identifier and, if there is a detectable chat, it has an AI notice. What the scanner can't see (generated content, decisions about people) is covered by your declaration, published on the verification page.
What if I change the website next month?
The monthly re-check detects it. If something stops complying, you get an email with what to fix and the seal shows “under review” until you verify again. It never shows “verified” when it isn't.
Who puts the texts on my website?
You or whoever manages your website: it's copy-paste and one line of code. If you have no one, write to us and we install it for €60 + VAT.
Does the seal protect me from a fine?
What protects you is meeting art. 50: notifying and marking. The seal gives you the right texts, checks they're there and leaves a public, dated record that you complied. It is not insurance or an official certification.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from the Stripe link on your invoice. The seal stays active until the end of the paid year.
